Melissa Bray is an Assistant Secretary at Commonwealth Treasury with responsibility for financial advice and investment policy. She has experience working for both the Australian and Western Australian Public Service including time acting as First Assistant Parliamentary Budget Officer at the Parliamentary Budget Office, as Assistant Secretary with the National COVID-19 Commission Advisory Board and she headed up the Economic Advice Service at the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources. Melissa has been part of a number of reviews including the Productivity Commission’s ‘Shifting the Dial’ Productivity Review and the Competition Policy (Harper) Review and she has experience as a Ministerial adviser to two former Assistant Treasurers. Melissa completed her economics degree at ANU and she also has a Master of Taxation Law from the University of NSW.
